WHO WE ARE............
Edie's Glassware began in January 1977 in a small room
as part of a large antique and clock repair shop. Today it has evolved
into a large individual business with color co-ordinated Depression,
Elegant, Kitchen, and Collectible glassware lining the walls and shelves.
In addition, there is a selection of antique and collectible china and
pottery.
The owner, Edie Putanko, is active in glass identification for
The John Heinz Regional History Center in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.
She is also a past president of The Three Rivers Depression Era Society.
Once a month she is featured on a segment of "What's It Worth?" on
KDKA TV also in Pittsburgh. Past segments have been Depression
Glass In Every Home; Kitchen Glass Of The Depression Era; Christmas
Collectibles; Jadite; Jewel Tea Company Autumn Leaf; and Hull's Red
Riding Hood. In addition to the featured subject, 4 to 5 pictures of items
are sent in to the program for identification.
As of December 22nd, 2000, Edie's Glassware has moved to a
new
location. It is located not far from the Fairgrounds of South Park in
Pittsburgh
PA. Just follow Brownsville Road past the fairgrounds and
watch
for a shopping plaza on your right called Bavarian Village. Here
you
will find more than ample parking for your visit.
